I have been a scientist just over 10 years, and working in lots of different jobs (a full list is included in my profile). I have worked in research in a several universities around the world focusing on cancer research, as well and in industry helping to develop new treatments for the flu and making sure medication does not have bacteria contamination which could make us sick. I have also worked at a non-profit (similar to a charity) where we helped scientists share research tools around the world to make research happen faster. I have loved working in so many different types of science.

In some ways it’s a tricky question to answer, as not everyone feels like a scientist even when they’re doing research! It’s a job you feel you can always get better at. But I think I became a scientist when I did my Masters, which was three years ago now.
