      Yes, I passed all my GCSE’s but I wasn’t very academic, so only C grades. Exams are important but you can still be a scientist even if you don’t get top grades.

      I did Standard Grades which are like Scottish GCSEs but yes, I did pass all of them. Passing exams allows you to get into university, which is the first step to working as a scientist, but getting really good grades isn’t essential to being a scientist. I know a lot of good scientists who weren’t great students at school.

      I passed all my GCSE’s but failed most of my A levels, as the other scientist have said, exams are helpful in becoming a scientist but you may be able to work your way up to being a scientist without great exam grades
