Yes! There is so much to explore in woodlands. You can go on a bug hunt, search for animals (or animals tracks!) and find different plants or even pine cones. Woodlands contain many different trees and plants so you can look at the leaves to identify what the tree is. You can also take some binoculars. You have to sit quite still but there are thousands of different birds that you can see! Birds you might see include: Robin, Wrens, Chaffinch, Woodpecker, Owls! (at night) or even a Sparrowhawk. Another interesting thing you can look for in the woodlands is the mushrooms (Fungi). These pop up when it has been raining. Do not touch any of the mushrooms (they can be dangerous) but you can look at them, they are fascinating! You can explore woodlands all across the UK, here is a website that can show you what to look for depending on where you are in the UK: https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/visiting-woods/trees-woods-and-wildlife/ Take a look!
