Nobody else would actually do my work for me, although people would help to look after my plants until I got back. Luckily my work isn’t that time-pressured, so unless I was ill for weeks and weeks it wouldn’t matter too much. I could miss a week without it being too important to my investigation. If I got really ill then I would talk to the university and we would work out a new plan for my research that would work around me being ill.

I work together with a lot of other people, so if I was ill they would be able to do my work, this is really important because sometimes people do become ill or are unable to work, so we need to ensure we are able to hep with each others work.

It’s a little different if you are studying a PhD, because this is your research project, and while you do work with other people, they won’t continue your project for you, because they won’t know what you had planned to investigate next or what was the conclusion of your most recent experiment. Think of it like if you were ill, you wouldn’t expect your friends to do your homework, but when you are better you can always catch up.

Unfortunately for me, if I was ill then nobody would do my investigation for me. Therefore it is very important that I stay healthy and strong. In the past I have been ill (i.e. cannot get out of bed), but I have still completed different work (e.g. writing or organising my diary). There are many times that while you are in school you might get ill, but instead of watching cartoons or playing on the computer it might be a great opportunity to get some school work done or learn something (even if its looking at pictures in a book!). Your learning is only your own. Here are some top tips to stay healthy and strong: get enough sleep, eat healthily, drink lots of water and get lots of fresh air! Not getting enough sleep and eating unhealthily can make your immune system lower ( so your likely to get ill) and going for walks is always a good way to keep healthy.
