Luckily I have worked in a wide range of science, not just plants but I have worked in cancer, viruses, and bacteria too. I think the thing I love most about genetics is that it applied to all types of life on earth, so I don’t have to only work in one area forever. Science is more a set of skills and a was of learning, and you can move into other subject areas and topics.

Within science, I would love to understand physics better than I do. I’m not very good at physics but I find all their research about what the universe is made of and how it started fascinating.

I’m also really interested in statistics, which I do a lot of as part of my research anyway. I don’t know if you’ve done any statistics yet, but it’s basically a way maths is used to understand and describe information. So if I didn’t do this work I think I’d like to work for the government and try to make statistics to understand the economy and whether certain laws or policies are working.
