For me the theory of evolution is the most beautiful and interesting idea in science. I love how it ties us together with the rest of the natural world explains how all life on the planet, from plants to animals to humans, started from the same place. Even though life has taken on such different forms and behaviours it has all evolved using the same set of rules.

That’s a hard question to answer. I think I just love discovering how something works, whether it is understanding some animal behavior or learning how genetics works so you can better understand selective breeding. For me it is the curiosity and the insight in to how the world works. I love nature and watching plants and animals in the wild, so appreciating how they are so unique and well adapted for their habitat.

I think ‘the most exciting area of science’ is very subjective. For me genetics is fascinating and I never get bored reading about new discoveries in genetics, for my friend working at the UK Space Agency they don’t find biology interesting but are fascinated about everything relating to space and other planets (which I find interesting but I find it hard to visualize all the maths and physics involved). So whatever you think is interesting or fascinating is probably a whole area of research that you could go into if you wanted, so you could have a job where you get to follow your interest and study something which excites you.
