I don’t think I really had a favorite lesson at school. I never really likes school and was only a C grade student. I think I didn’t like school was because I didn’t find it interesting, but when I was older I realised it was just the way I was taught in school, because science and other subjects are really interesting, I just needed a different way of learning.
I think this is why I would encourage you to go to after-school clubs and have a tutor if you are not doing well in a subject, because maybe someone else will be able to teach you in a way you understand and enjoy.
So don’t worry if you don’t currently like a subject, because when you change school and have new teachers you may realise you actually do love the subject!

I think my favourite subject was probably English, although I did like Biology as well. I really enjoyed reading and writing. But I didn’t really enjoy my subjects at school as much as I did at university, I think you get to learn about some much more interesting ideas when you take a subject further. You don’t have to wait until university to do this though – reading around the subject yourself and going to any after-school clubs are a great way to learn more.

Hi, my favourite lesson in school was P.E, but I also liked science in high school. I really enjoyed being outdoors playing sports and getting to be part of different teams. My family all thought I would go into something sporty when I was older. I liked science because we got to learn different things every day and I loved doing all the experiments. I didn’t really like the other subjects but I realised that was because I didn’t like school. I preferred to be doing things rather than sitting in a classroom. I used to get really anxious in a classroom. I would learn so much more if I just read the books at home by myself. Like Emma said, people learn in different ways and you have to find the way to suit you. So don’t be worried if you don’t like a subject because you’re opinions will change with schools and teachers. Hopefully you will too become to love science in the way we all do!
