I changed from being a tailor to a scientist because I was unable to find a job, so I had to consider another career. I thought I was going to just get some A-Levels and then become a manager of a shop. It was only when I was doing A-level biology that I fell in love with genetics and realised that is what I would love to do as a career. I had never before considered being a scientist, but I’m really glad I did!
