Question: What is your favourite activity?

This is a hard question! I enjoy doing science communication in my spare time, so things like this were I talk to young people about what it is like to be a scientist. I also have lots of hobbies, like pottery and I’m learning Japanese. I also really enjoy traveling, so planning a trip to Scotland later this month and a camping trip around Germany in August.
Many of my friends at work enjoy running in their spare time or baking cakes, I have a few friends who play cricket and others who like to play computer games. Being a scientist is just like any other job, we have time in the evening and at weekend to do things we enjoy.

My favorite activity at work is getting together with colleagues in a group and problem-solving, so we will talk about a challenge or problem we are having and all things about different solutions we could try. It’s great to share ideas like this and work as a team to support each other. I also enjoy it when people bring in cake and sweets to share!
